You Can Count On It
In order to fully support the high mechanical precision of the Dereneville turntables, drives and tangential tonearms, we developed electronics that are specially tailored to the required task. The circuit and the circuit board are designed in such a way that they can be used in the tangential tone arm as well as in the Comfort and Premium drives. Particularly noteworthy is the circuit for motor control of the linear drive of the tangential tone arm. Here we use the newly developed Trinamic TMC5130A-TA motor driver. It is operated in StealthChop™ mode, which combines silent movements with the highest positioning precision. At this point we would like to point out the extremely competent support of the Trinamic experts, with whose help we found the optimal setting for the new driver. Details about our motor control can also be found on the Trinamic homepage. The heart of the circuit is a powerful 16-bit Fujitsu controller, which breathes life into all components. An EEPROM stores the units' individual configuration data even when the power is switched off. A two-stage voltage regulator ensures that the circuit is optimally supplied. The layout as a 4-fold multilayer ensures perfect signal routing and shielding of the signals. The circuit board itself is made of high quality FR4 material. Even the best hardware without software is just a complex weight. We have developed a real-time operating system especially for this application, which ensures the precise processing of all sensor data and the precise regulation and control of the actuators. The entire software is built in a layer structure with a modern modular architecture and meets automotive standards. Due to the modular structure of the software, we are able to achieve an optimal test depth, which leads to extremely high reliability. In the last 8 years, the development of the software was the task of Hannes and Hans Bernhard. Our mechanical genius Rainer often asked the question: "That works?" - The answer was: "Yep..."
